Further to the Appointment of a Substantive Registrar, Abia State University, by the University Governing Council, at its 144th Regular Meeting, effective 1st September, 2020, the New Registrar, Acho Elendu, has Formally assumed Duty, after a Brief but Memorable handing-over Ceremony by the Out-gone Ag.Registrar, Mr. A.O. Nkama.
Acho Elendu, a Pioneer Alumnus of Abia State University, with over 26years experience in University Administration, was until his appointment, Deputy Registrar, Public Relations, in the University.
He had previously served the University in various capacities, including:
🔸 Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies
🔸 Head, Exams and Records
🔸 Head, Senate Unit
🔸 SAR, Personnel Unit
🔸 Faculty Officer- Environmental Studies and Business Administration, among others.
In their separate speeches, the Out-gone Ag. Registrar, Mr. A.O. Nkama, congratulated the New Registrar, Acho Elendu, on his deserved appointment, describing him as a Diligent and Dependable Administrator, who will bring his wealth of experience to bear in taking the University Administration to the next level.
In his remarks, the New Registrar, Acho Elendu, thanked God, the Governor, Abia State and Visitor to the University, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D, the Pro-Chancellor, His Excellency Senator Adolf Wabara, Ph.D, Members of the University Governing Council, the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne, for the confidence reposed in him and promised not to disappoint.
He pledged his Loyalty, Dedication to duty and Commitment to the ideals of the University anchored on the Motto: *Excellence and Service
