Boko Haram: NUT Wants FG to Assist Families of Killed Teachers

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT)has asked
the Federal Government to assist the families of
teachers who were killed by the Boko Haram
insurgents in the course of their assignment.
The Borno State Chairman of the association,
Alhaji Bulama Abiso, made this appeal while
donating relief materials to families of the
deceased teachers, who died as a result of
insurgency in the North-East.
He suggested that the Federal Government
should give N200,000 to each of the 50 families
of the deceased for the next three months,
reasoning that this would go a long way in easing
the hardship of the families.
He added that the North Eastern chapter of the
union was planning to also contribute additional
N200,000 for three months to ensure all the
families benefited.
He stressed that there is the urgent need to assist
teachers as most of them were displaced and had
no jobs.
