No Corruption and delay in Collection of Certificates/ Transcripts at Ekiti Varsity

.

The attention of the Management of Ekiti State University
has been drawn to the malicious publication on page 43 of
the Punch newspaper of Tuesday, November 10, 2015.
Titled: “Corruption Mars of
Certificates, Transcripts at Ekiti Varsity” and wish to state that
the Publication was based on falsehood sold to the reporter
by his paymasters in order to rubbish the progress made in
the University
within the last four years.
When the current Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oladipo Aina
came into office, he met an avalanche of backlogs of
unsigned certificates which he promptly attended to. As at
today, not less than ninety-five
thousand certificates have been signed while graduates
come to obtain such.
It is however erroneous and unpatriotic for one a self-styled
President of the EKSU Alumni Association of the United
Kingdom and Ireland Chapter, Mr. Tunde Owoseni to state
that the problem had
defied logic. The Punch further reported that Owoseni
claimed that no less than 25 percent of the students have
problems with certificates and transcripts. These statements
are false. Mr. Owoseni seems to be living in the past when in
the system in almost all Nigerian
Universities was in analogue.
Time has changed and EKSU has moved beyond when he
was in Nigeria several years ago.
Students now collect their certificates even on convocation
day while former graduates get their certificates and
transcripts immediate without stress.
Genuine graduates without disciplinary actions and who are
not involved in unwholesome activities or found guilty of
any offence get their certificates at will without hazzles in
today’s Ekiti State
University. This could be verified by Owoseni through other
means even from EKSU affiliate institutions.
It is unfortunate that the Punch reporter, Mr. Toluwani
Eniola did not report what he saw on ground but based his
writings on what his paymaster sent him to do. This is
unprofessional.
The Punch reporter when he came calling was told to meet
the Alumni President, Professor Matthew Ayeni who also
told him (Toluwani) that Owoseni of Ireland would not know
what is happening in Nigeria.
As an Alumnus, Owoseni should mobilise his members to
contribute immensely to positive development of the
University instead of throwing stones to achieve
unwarranted publicity through subterranean
means.
Let Owoseni come home today, he would know that Ekiti
State University is one of the best Universities in record
keeping and issuance of certificates and transcripts a point
that was stressed to the Punch reporter when he paid a brief
visit to EKSU.
The Management would have ordinarily remained silent on
this matter but it behoves on the university to let the
unsuspecting public understand that the whole article was a
calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the University and
rubbish the popularity of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor,
Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina.
